Open Doors Event at Hetty Pit Engine House - 26th September 2015




Between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 26th September visitors will have the unique opportunity to step inside the Hetty Pit Engine House in Hopkinstown nr. Pontypridd. It is one of the very few steam engines of it's type and era still in working order, and in this FREE event you will have the opportunity to see both it and the engine house and perhaps even drive it under supervision! For more details, please visit the CADW website

Conflict Archaeology Conference - 20th November 2015

On Friday 20th November, the Welsh Conference Archaeology Panel is holding a conference in the National Library of Wales to cover current UK (and wider) research themes, projects and management issues, and will feature papers on a range of topics including military field archaeology, First World War themes, the Home Front in Wales, aviation archaeology and community archaeology.
